If you’re in California or you know anyone in California, you’ve probably heard lots of groaning about the inevitable Indian summer weather. I’m a proud summer weather lover but even I have to admit that the cool mornings and warm autumn glow are getting me excited for days spent in sweaters and boots and scarves.
Even though the weather will be inconsistent from here until November, I like to find ways to channel fall vibes without winding up like a sweaty mess.
Enter the buffalo check flannel shirt.
I’ve had mine for three years and it’s held up well. As someone who tends to live in sweaters and t shirts, I really appreciate the way a button up shirt mixes up my outfits. It gives a slightly different silhouette plus I always feel a little bit more dressed up.
I rolled the sleeves because it’s still Sacramento and the cool weather is only here in the morning, really. Plus I think it makes the outfit look more laid back. Two of my style words are effortless and easy; messily rolled sleeves help me achieve that.
To further the casualness of the outfit, I wore my distressed high rise slim boyjeans (last seen here), black loafers and finished it off with my leather jacket.
To be honest, I felt super brave donning my v e r y expensive leather jacket while out with my spitty, teething newborn. Luckily, there were no incidents and the jacket is fine. It might be time to spray it with a leather protector, though! Just to be safe.
I hope this brings you some style inspiration!
