Spring 10x10 Challenge Recap

I find it interesting how life is a constant curve ball. One day you’re planning for a 10x10, thinking you know what the weather and your schedule will be like, and the next thing you know, you’re working thrice as much as you expected to, your hot water is basically non-existent, and it isn’t nearly as sunny as you planned for.

Even with the craziness and the variables, I’m glad I stuck with the challenge.

Spring 10x10 Day 10

Here it is! The last look of the Spring 10x10/Unfancy Remix!

You may notice that I broke the rules again. And by that I mean I disregarded all of them.

See, the last day of the challenge landed on Easter Sunday. While I love the t shirt dress and other clothes I chose to include in this challenge, none of them screamed Resurrection Sunday to me.

Spring 10x10 Day 9

Oh man, the Spring 10x10/Unfancy Remix is almost over! I can hardly believe it! I feel like I’ve learned so much from limiting myself this much.

I mean, at the very least I know I hate limits this strict. I’m working on a debriefing post where I’ll share what I’ve learned from doing the challenge for next week.

Spring 10x10 Day 8

It happened, you guys. I gave in. I cracked. I reached for a jacket that wasn’t in my 10 pieces. Heck, it’s not even a part of my spring capsule! Although, I guess it is now.

See, I run my capsule wardrobe like a pirate.

Spring 10x10 Day 7

I’d tried to style this turtleneck sweater with my high top converse early on in the challenge and hated the way it turned out. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that this sweater could work with high top sneakers, so I gave the styling another try.

I actually love how this outfit turned out!

Spring 10x10 Day 6

Another simple outfit? Yeah…I just couldn’t help myself! I was starting to run out of ideas at this point in the challenge. I was really stretching to come up with something comfortable enough for a Wednesday that I’d spend on my feet without becoming an outfit repeater.

Anyone else think of Lizzie McGuire when they hear the phrase “outfit repeater”?

Anyway, I noticed that I hadn’t styled my mockneck top yet and decided to go for it. I’m pretty pleased with how this turned out.

Spring 10x10 Day 2

Ok, ok, I’m wearing the jeans again. But if you know me, you know I hate wearing the same jeans two days in a row, so not only is this a big step for me, but it also tells you how much I love these jeans. I looooove the colors in this outfit. I mean, I’m counting this cognac as a color because of how saturated it is. Anyway, I love wearing it close to my face because it really brings out the warmth in my eyes and hair color. It’s like the browns of my features all come to life, which probably explains why I’ve been wearing this top all.the.time since I picked it up at the thrift store.
